The suite was originally designed as exercises for Saint-Saëns's own students and the composer forbade all performances of the work during his lifetime. Ironically, today, this is one of Saint-Saens today most played works. Two performances are given in the Polish city of Jaworzno, June 2012.
Carnival of the Animals
Together with the award winning polish Archetti Chamber Orchestra, Carl is scheduled to perform Camille Saint-Saëns most famous composition. Under the direction of the upcoming Polish conductor Maciej Koczur and together with polish pianist Ewa Ksiazek, they will present this, by Camille Saint-Saëns hated - but by the audience loved orchestral work.
